LOCATION OF THE XRH FACILITY

The XRH facility is locate at the University Hospital Southampton.

We operate two scanning labs on Levels A and B of the Laboratory and Pathology / South Academic Block. Visitors should check in at the Biomedical Imaging Unit (BIU). Here’s how to find us:

BIU is on Level B in the South Academic Block. The easiest way to reach us is to give us a call when you reached the main entrance lobby and we will come and collect you. If you wish to brave it:

1. when you reached the main entrance lobby…
2. walk through the “shopping mall” (level C) and turn right at the end of the “mall”
3. pass through the lift lobby and take the first corridor on your left (signed for South Academic Block)
4. Walk about 50 m along this corridor until it opens out as a lift lobby on your right hand side
5. Take the lift or stairs down one level to the Level B lift lobby
6. There is a locked door in the corner of the lobby next to the WCs (the keycode would have been provided beforehand – but more often than not the door is unlocked)
7. Enter the corridor behind the door – BIU is accessed through the door at the far right hand end of this corridor

Direct access to LA62

If you have been specifically asked to meet with us in our scanning room on Level A (room LA62); e.g. to drop-off or collecting samples or equipment, you can access the lab from the services’ entry by the Minerva House outbuilding – Google Pin to Minerva House services’ entrance.

Note: For a short stay you can drive directly to this point and use one of the parking bays available
